How to Use Our Body Scrubs

You can use our body scrubs in several ways:
  1. In the shower:
    To use our body scrubs in the shower, simply apply the scrub with your finger tips.  You can apply to any areas that have tough, dry skin such as your heals, knees, and elbows. Rub around in circular motions for about a minuet.  Wash the scrub and dead skin away using a safe, natural soap such as our soon to come organic soaps.  Pat dry with a towel and apply a moisturizer such as Aloe Vera Gel or Olive Oil.
  2. On your hands:
    Apply our scrubs to your hands.  Just a bit will be enough.  No water is needed.  Rub the scrub around as you would do soap for about a minute.  When your finished, wash the scrub away using a natural hand soap.  Pat your hands dry and apply a moisturizer.  For extra moisturizing, you can add some thick body butter {which we plan to make in the future also!} and then on some plastic disposable gloves for about five minutes.
  3. Microdermabrasion:
    If you've ever had a microdermabrasion, you know how wonderful they can be for your complexion!  To use our scrubs as a microdermabrasion, you simply apply with the tip of your fingers as described above.  Be careful with the delicate facial skin.  Don't pull too hard or excessively.  You may want to wet your face just a bit before beginning the scrub.  Rub your fingers around your face in slow, circular motions.  Take care not to get the scrub in your eyes!  Wet a towel with hot water - hot as you can stand it without burning yourself.  Do be careful NOT TO BURN YOURSELF!  Hold the cloth up to your face for a moment.  Use the cloth to wipe the scrub off your face, being sure not to get it in your eyes.  When your face is clean, you can add a moisturizer or simply use a cotton ball with a bit of olive oil as moisturizer.

    DIY Mani and Pedi:
    Do you ever pay money to get your nails done?  It's a fun thing to do every once in a while.  But it really costs too much to do it all the time.  Most of the time I just do it myself for my girls at home.  Simply cut and clean your nails and nail beds.  Remove cuticles.  Cut, file and buff your nails.  Use our scrubs to "buff" your hands and feet.  After the scrub is washed away, you can pat dry, add a moisturizing cream or nail polish.  So much fun to feel fresh and confident!!  And remember our products are natural!  Be sure you're using other natural products too.  And did you know most nail polishes have formaldehyde in them??
    Just a little food for thought....

Morning Bliss {Coffee Scrub}

Ingredients:  Coffee, Brown Sugar, Vitamin E, Organic Avocado Oil

Morning Bliss is my favorite body scrub!  I don't drink coffee, but I do love to smell it.  It reminds me of being at my Grandma's house in the morning!

Not only does this scrub smell good, exfoliate and moisturize, but it also has other benefits.

Although caffeine may be considered bad by some, applied topically it's actually very good for your skin.  Caffeine is a vasoconstrictor .  Which is a fancy way of saying it causes your blood vessels to constrict.  This constricting temporarily reduces varicose veins and rosacea.    Some studies have proved that it also helps to reduce post work-out muscle pain and spasms.

Caffeine also helps to dehydrate fat cells {cellulite} temporarily and make your skin smoother.  It has been used in facial and eye creams for years because of it's ability to reduce swelling and dark spots.  A study done by Rutgers University reports that recent testing has proved that caffeine, when applied straight to the skin may protect against sun damage and in the long run skin cancer.

Coffee is an antioxidant.  It helps tighten the skin, which in turn makes you look younger.

If you're a recovering coffee addict, this may be just the thing for you!  You can get your coffee fix in the shower where it's good for you rather than drinking it.  I love to use this on my feet and legs to remove flaky dry skin and moisturize. It works great anywhere - even on your face.

{But do be careful not to get it in your eyes!}

Our Hopes and Dreams....

If you read Proverbs 31, you will see that the "virtuous woman" did many things to earn money from home.  It is my desire to train my daughters to be stay-at-home moms that know how to help with the family finances!  Not only that, but it's a great way to train them to make, save and be responsible with their very own money.

Skin is your biggest organ and should be cared for just like all of your other organs.  A good rule when caring for your skin is: never put anything on your skin that you wouldn't put in your month. Obviously we don't eat soap, but we can use soap that is made from natural, organic ingredients that are good for our skin.

Natural, organic lip balm was our first idea.  My oldest is super excited about this particular part of our new business!  We will be working together, but she will be "heading it up".  You can click the "Lexxi's Lip Balm" tab for more information.

Our second idea was sugar scrub.  We use natural, semi organic ingredients for this too.  We have already started selling these and so, far it has been successful!  We are very excited.  We currently have 2 scents for you to chose from: Pumpkin Spice & Morning Bliss {smells like a cup of morning coffee}.  We have plans for several more scents as well.  You can read more information under the "Body Scrub" tab.

Homemade Vanilla Extract was an idea that I have had in the back of my mind for the past couple of years, but I was not able to make it because we don't allow alcohol in our home.  I prayed about it, and found a recipe for Alcohol Free Homemade Vanilla Extract!  I'm very excited about it and we will be bring it to you as soon as we can.

Plans are also under way to start selling natural, organic soaps!   I am especially excited about this because I like to use them.  I've seen dramatic improvement in my skin since I started using only organic soaps and natural cleansers for our clothing as well.

If you are interested in helping us start our new business, have any questions or would like to place an order you can email me at searching4hiddentreasures@gmail.com

We are new at this, so prices {and other things too!} are subject to change.  I've always tried to find the best deals when shopping for things we need.  I hope to be able to offer YOU the best deals out there!
